Each letter is presented in its isolated, initial, middle and final forms, with notes on pronunciation, the sounds that have no English equivalent, and the marks used for short vowels and doubled consonants.

    After this level you should be able to describe your routine, talk about what happened, and guess the meaning of new words from their roots. You will be able to read short Arabic texts with some vowel marks and write simple paragraphs.

Advanced

    The material covers derived verb forms II to X and the meanings they add, the subjunctive and jussive moods, case endings, relative clauses with alladhii, conditional sentences, active and passive participles, and verbal nouns. Passages without vowel marks build reading confidence.

    Designed for readers comfortable with basic Modern Standard Arabic who want to handle complex grammar and read unvowelled text. It suits those who already follow simple news items or texts in part and wish to understand their structure more precisely.

    You will be able to recognise and use derived verb forms, build conditional and relative clauses, and read unvowelled Arabic with growing accuracy. You should feel ready to tackle straightforward articles and write connected texts on familiar themes.

    The deepest stage, for confident readers of Arabic who want precision, eloquence and an awareness of register. It suits anyone engaging with literature, journalism or formal writing who wishes to appreciate how Arabic achieves balance, rhythm and emphasis.

    You should feel ready to read demanding Arabic prose with attention to structure and nuance, apply case endings in formal writing and recognise how dialects differ. You will be able to write polished texts with a considered, personal style.
