Norwegian verbs do not change with the person, and much of its vocabulary shares roots with English, which makes the first steps pleasantly manageable. The trickier parts are the vowels, the tonal pitch accent and the verb-second word order. This material takes each of these slowly, with written pronunciation hints and plenty of example sentences.

It suits people who want to manage real situations in Norway more independently, from making appointments to chatting with neighbours, and who want grammar explained through practical examples.

    You should be able to talk about what you have done and plan to do, describe people and places in more detail, and follow short Norwegian texts such as notices and simple news items. Everyday conversations will feel more manageable and less rehearsed.
